چکیده

In this paper, we present an improved channel matrix estimation algorithm for orthogonalfrequency-divisionmultiplexing downlink mobile communication systems using comb-type pilot. The channel matrix, which contains the channel frequency response and the coefficients of inter-sub-carrierinterference (ICI), is estimated using parametric multipath channel model. In the algorithm, we assume the delays are timeinvariant over several symbols. With delays information, the multipath complex gains time average over the effective duration of each OFDM symbol are estimated using LS or LMMSE criteria. After that, the time-variation of the multipath complex gains within one OFDM symbol are obtained by using lowpass interpolation. Hence, the channel matrix can be calculated and the ICI can be reduced. The simulation results show that the proposed method, with less number of pilots and without suppression of interference, gives a good performance over LS and LMMSE estimators with low-pass interpolation and becomes better with starting interference suppression.

Iterative Channel Estimation for SISO and MIMO-OFDM Systems in Time-Varying Channels

Abstract—This paper proposes a simple and efficient algorithm using polynomial interpolation for SISO and MIMO-OFDM systems in a fast time-varying channel. The time averages of the multipath complex gains, over the effective duration of each OFDM symbol, are estimated using LS criterion. After that, the time variation of the channel within several OFDM symbols are obtained by interpolating the ...

Using WPT as a New Method Instead of FFT for ‌Improving the Performance of OFDM Modulation

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is used in order to provide immunity against very hostile multipath channels in many modern communication systems.. The OFDM technique divides the total available frequency bandwidth into several narrow bands. In conventional OFDM, FFT algorithm is used to provide orthogonal subcarriers. Intersymbol interference (ISI) and intercarrier interferen...

Inter Carrier Interference mitigation in OFDM system using Kalman Filter Channel Estimation

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is one of the modulation scheme, used for high speed mobile communication. However, fast time varying multipath channels leads to loss of orthogonality of subcarriers and introduces inter carrier interference (ICI). In this study, MMSE equalizer is implemented to remove ICI. The information of Channel Impulse Response (CIR) required for equalize...
